The Seattle Seahawks are an NFL team based in Seattle, Washington, competing in the NFC West. They were established as an expansion team in 1976 and initially played in the NFC before moving to the AFC West from 1977 to 2001. In 2002, they returned to the NFC West. The team's home games are held at Lumen Field in Seattle's SoDo neighborhood, but they previously played in the Kingdome (1976-1999) and Husky Stadium (1994 and 2000-2001). The Seahawks are currently coached by Pete Carroll. Their passionate fan base is known as the "12s" or the "12th Fan."
